Year 6 Blue - Limericks

Limericks have been the focus for reading and writing in Year 6 Blue. Students were given many opportunities to share and read the poetry genre of limericks. They were then able to identify the criteria for writing a limerick. To be successful at writing limericks, the poet uses a specific rhyming pattern [a - a -b - b - a], the poem is humorous and tends to make sense from nonsense, often through the use of different figures of speech. Getting creative for Year of Youth

A gymnast in our midst!

St Michael’s student Macie Parkinson, together with her partner, competed in Level 4 Acrobatics at the State Championships held at the Sydney Gymnastic Aquatic Centre (SGAC) in Rooty Hill on September 8-9. They were awarded second place overall for women’s pair and went on to compete for NSW in the National Clubs Carnival in Queensland. Read more...
